Bedding and Blanket Ministry

The Bedding and Blanket Ministry of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon distributes both new and used bedding of all kinds. Pillows, mattress pads, sheets, blankets, quilts, and afghans are cleaned, sorted, and organized by volunteers at the church. Bedding is then delivered with beds available through the Furniture and Appliance Ministry.

Loving Help Non-Perishable Food Pantry

A ministry of First Christian Reformed Church, Sheldon, Loving Help Non-Perishable Food Pantry provides groceries for families enrolled in the Loving Help mentorship program.  When families attend class, meet with their mentor, and complete tasks assigned by their mentor, they earn vouchers for free groceries through this pantry.

Furniture and Appliance Ministry

The Furniture and Appliance Ministry consists of couches, beds, chairs, dining room sets, refrigerators, stoves, etc. After these items are donated to Love In the Name of Christ, they are inspected and then delivered to clients by various groups from our partner churches.

Gift Closet Ministry

The Gift Closet Ministry, housed and coordinated at the United Methodist Church in Sheldon, allows people to shop for new items using vouchers earned through the Loving Help program.

Personal Supplies Pantry

The Personal Supplies Pantry is coordinated by volunteers at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. This ministry provides basic hygiene supplies, cleaning products, and other personal items to clients in the Loving Help program.

Griefshare Ministry

This ministry hosted by Our Savior Lutheran Church of Sheldon offers a 13 week session on the Biblical perspective of grief and recovery.

Transportation Ministry

The Transportation Ministry coordinates rides for people needing help getting to and from medical and counseling appointments.  Ride requests can be for local transportation or transportation out of town.  For respect of our volunteers’ time, a week’s notice is required for all transportation requests.

Household Items Ministry

Pots and pans, dishes, small kitchen appliances (coffee maker, toaster, etc.) are available through the Household Items Ministry.  Items are delivered to the home of the client requesting the items by various volunteers from our partner churches.
